This hybrid piece synthesizes visual vocabulary from two distinct periods of my development. The lower half (below the blue horizon) uses elements which evolved during a time when I was flying a light plane and regularly looked down on the landscape from a low altitude; the upper half of the piece uses wave patterns and suggests open space (sky) above the horizon -- space which we know is filled with energies of many kinds. The wave patterns are typical of my "structured field" paintings.
